You know we chose only the most intriguing and breath-taking stories to present you, hoping to leave you aching for more. So, now we have exactly that type of a story. It’s the story about Louis Jackson and his blown, big-block-powered Bel Air. Namely, two years ago he had a race he needed to attend. Though his friends supported him tremendously, telling him that the race was a piece of cake for him, he was still anxious. Finally, he won by five cars and a guys with whom he was racing told him that he thought of his Bel Air to be just a show-up car. But, he backed his reputation in the end!

We do not support such illicit activities to be clear but anyways we are very glad to hear Louis upheld the honor of his ’55. His vehicle is a true example of the trend of a well-turned out vehicle that can win the gold at any the show presented, then tear up the tarmac on the way back home.Nevertheless, it hasn’t been easy to get the car to the point at it is today. Louis is making arrangements on what’s to be his third engine, and the guy who performed the back half job before he bought the ’55 did several mistakes that were not cheap to correct and needed to be fixed before the project could take further steps.

There is a 540-inch Rat under the hood, built by Button Automotive peaked with Dart Pro 1 heads and a B&M 420 Mega Blower supercharger. The car boosts an amazing amount of about 900 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 780 lb-ft at the flywheel thanks to the custom ground cam from Isky that was installed with no problems whatsoever. Exhaust flows through a custom made set of headers exhaling through four-inch Flowmasters and five-inch oval side-exiting tips.

The car has a M&M Transmissions manual valvebody Turbo 400 which gets the power to the narrowed 9-inch. After going through lots of torque converter problems, Louis finally settled a Neil Chance 2800-stall unit, which he practically adores. While we are at the 9-inch, we must not forget to mention that it was built by Danny Miller’s Rear Gears and employs 3.73 s and a Detroit Locker.
