The Alpine A110 was the epitome of the sports car in the 1960s. Combining a mid-engined layout with an eleganta, lightweight, swooping body made the A110 a sort of mini supercar. There has been chatter for a long time that Renault would bring back the brand to inject some much needed excitement into its hatchback and people mover heavy lineup. Alpine's return is finally confirmed with this, the Alpine Vision Concept.
Hopefully the 20 percent that is being changed from the concept are just the door handles and the mirrors. This is a perfect modern interpretation of the A110 that doesn't have any awkward lines. It's a perfect competitor for Porsche's 718 Cayman. The Alpine is supposed to weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 2300 pounds and have nearly 300 horsepower from a mid mounted four cylinder, possibly the one from the Renaultsport Clio. It's also assumed that it'll have a dual clutch transmission. Those stats makes it sound a lot like the Alfa Romeo 4C.
