Tom Sykes traveled to a seventh continuous Donington Park triumph, beating Ducati's Davide Giugliano and buddy Jonathan Rea.Chaz Davies took the holeshot to lead the early stages with Sykes losing time at the primary corner taking after a forceful move from Giugliano who moved into second place.
Davies' lead was fleeting as he smashed at Goddards making a beeline for lap seven, giving Giugliano the lead with Sykes close on his tail. In the wake of stalking the Italian for ten laps, Sykes made his turn coming into the last phases of the race quickly gapping the Ducati man to win by 2.869 seconds.
Jonathan Rea was precluded of a potential triumph challenge on lap eight subsequent to running on at Goddards, something he would go ahead to rehash in the last phases of the race before going too far about ten seconds behind his partner.Having rejoined the race after his earlier crash, Davies was making headway in eighth place but his resurgence met an early end as he slipped off on the entry to Coppice on lap 15.
