In Greek mythology, Medusa is a monster with the face of a woman and a head full of snakes instead of hair. As the story goes, anybody who dares look upon her mug immediately turns to stone. Widebody craftsman Akira Nakai and this Porsche's owner, JM Yang, named this RWB project "Medusa", a name that alludes to how onlookers stop and stare almost compulsively at this 911.

"The name depends on my own involvement with RWB and how I saw others respond to it," recollects JM. "When I first observed a RAUH Welt Porsche, it pulled in me and made me gaze at it for a drawn out stretch of time. As it were, it was transforming me into stone." JM is your regular fan who has dependably been interested via autos and discovered changing them a wellspring of self expression. He's been through the fundamental dash on stage with wheels, suspension, and fumes, and it was simply after he additionally progressed in his profession as a Registered Nurse that his constructs got to be distinctly genuine – genuine. His EVO X was even included in our sister image, Import Tuner magazine, a couple of years prior. In any case, even before that, in '08, he unearthed an article about Akira Nakai and got to be distinctly fixated on his 930 Stella Artois. Much to his dismay six years after the fact he would be a piece of the RWB family.

Like with any venture, finding a spotless base auto is vital. For JM, discovering this 25-year-old 911 took six months of looking. He in the end discovered it at a claim to fame auto dealership in Monterey, Calif. Two distinct gatherings were at that point intrigued by the auto and were trusting he would surrender the arrangement, however JM and his companion took a restricted rental auto to Monterey and brought it home the following day. "I've possessed my Porsche for a long time now. I got it at some point in '14 and a couple of months after the fact I requested the RWB unit for my birthday," JM says. At the time, RWB wasn't as mainstream, and you wouldn't have to sit tight a year for Nakai-san to deliver the unit as you do today.

Next on the agenda were the essentials, such as paint, suspension, wheels, and an exhaust – which at first might seem basic, but let's be real; Porsche parts aren't exactly on the same price level as 240SX parts. Often times you'll hear each RWB car is different; for Medusa, JM opted for the race bumper with Rotana style canards, rear fender wing, and a champion wing. Some of the more unique and personal touches include louvered quarter windows and GT Racing door slider windows. "This car has been a build in progress until now, I upgrade and modify as time and budget allows," JM pointed out. A Steve Wong chip adds the finishing touch and JM likes to drive the car as much as he can.

JM's RWB is far from being done. His next focus is on suspension upgrades and a different RWB deck lid. "The car is probably about 250hp right now, but the long-term goal is to have a built engine," JM concludes. When that happens it'll probably be a monster much like Medusa.
